Rapid changes in information technologies post unprecedented challenges and opportunities for IT workers and for regional and national efforts to develop sustainable information economies.

Research questions investigated include:

• How do global perceptions of IT professions and careers motivate or discourage people from choosing to pursue information technology;
• What are the policies that encourage or inhibit the growth of IT economies and the development of an IT workforce;
• What are the connections between diversity and innovations in the knowledge economy.

Research Projects have looked at ICTs for humanitarian relief organizations and the use of mobile devices without broadband Internet.
